Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton was born on the 19th January, 1946 at Locust Ridge Tenn. She grew up with twelve other kids. Her imaginative mind allowed her to escape the pressures of daily life. Before she learned to read and write, Dolly Parton was creating her own songs. Once she had her first guitar at age of eight, she started to perform at radio stations in Knoxville, Tennessee. That same year, she released her debut album for Gold Band Records an independent small-scale label. As a student in high school she established herself in the local community, yet she yearned for a larger stage. On the 14th of March, 1964, following her graduation from high-school the singer moved to Nashville. Dumb Blonde was her first record to chart on Monument Records. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated TV show host at the time was searching for a girl to sing for his program. Parton was a part of the Grand Ole Opry 1969 after having signed with RCA Records. It was not until 1974 that she opted to walk away from Wagoner's show because the success of her individual records like Joshua Coat, Many Colors, and Jolene exceeded their collective efforts. Parton was a part of the group that split after the end of their partnership with Wagoner was the one to write"I Will Never Love You and made it to No. First time, in 1974.
